Saturday 17 March :: Jad & The Ladyboy :: Youth

Come dance or lounge with us.Jad 9pmYouth 12amGuest players:JAD & THE LADY BOYLadyboy eventuated in 1992 when a young Jad Lee went for the yearly trip to Bangkok with the family. Although this trip was different. Jad was a little older, his body was changing, his voice was turning the treble down and the bass up his balls were slowly getting closer to the floor. Jad started noticing things, things he never used to notice. He realised towards the end of his family holiday that his infatuation with cross dressing thai folk was for a reason.Jad wanted to be Jade………… he wanted to be a lady………. he wanted to be a ladyboy………… When his family left home to Australia, Jad never made the plane. His/her family never saw Jad again.YOUTHBorn out of a love for the music, Brisbane based Youth has paved a way through Australian nightlife for over 4 years playing clubs and festivals across Australia. This 22 year old has had an ecletic ride raised on an appreciation of the vinyl culture, he has cultivated a sound blurring the lines between the new and the old. With a beginning in heavier production, 2007 saw Youth release remixes for the likes of Sneaky Sound System, releasing a much acclaimed mix for the mega-blog discobelle, whilst testing the waters at some of Brisbanes best club nights. An incredibly broad range of influences you may hear anything from the sounds of high energy disco, classic deep house, moody italo, detroit techno and heavy krautrock plastered throughout his set. A throwback style akin to the original djs of old. This erratic love of music has also found its way into his production with a new guise, Young Edits born as a way to reconstruct classic tracks with his own flare. These tracks have seen countless support from such heavy hitters as Tim Sweeney, Optimo, Cousin Cole, Leo Zero and countless others. Including support on such radio stations as BeatsInSpace, Ministry of Sound and KCRW.
